R600a Refrigerant

Let’s talk about R600a (isobutane) refrigerant gas, this is what most manufactures of domestic refrigeration units are now using in the market and has replaced the R134a that originally replaced the R12 gas that was identified as an ozone depleting gas. R600a weighs approximately half of that of R134a and thus would require less power to circulate through the cooling system, hens use less electricity and get a higher A+ rating for environmental grading.

R600a (isobutane) is a hydrocarbon that is becoming increasingly popular due to its low Global Warming Potential (GWP). Its is the refrigerant of choice for domestic and light commercial refrigeration units, including fridges and freezers, drink dispensers and standalone display units.

WARNING!  Hydrocarbon refrigerants are flammable and must be handles in a safe and responsible manner by a properly qualified, trained and experienced technicians.
